BlazBlue

I picked this up earlier in the week. I must say that I haven't had this much fun with a fighter since the Guilty Gear X series. Makes sense because it is from the same developer.

Best to watch these in HQ.

This is nice--Big, nicely-animated sprites over beautiful 3D backdrops, and they fit so nicely. Best of all--This game is just as easy to pick up and play like Guilty Gear X, unlike Street Fighter IV. It's still pretty competitive, especially in online play. Each character has a special unique ability activated with a single button. Like in the first video, Rachel can control the wind to move projectiles, herself, and even her opponent, while Carl can make that mannequin move around and attack. It's crazy.

King of Fighters XII is coming out this month, but I think that I will still prefer BlazBlue over that. ;)

By the way, I hate it when cartoons are supposedly marketed for kids because animation is more sophisticated than everyone thinks.

Adults like the kids stuff, or at least the stuff they grew up to when they were kids. That's how they want cartoons to be.

Cartoons these days tend to lack any substance in storytelling and characters. Instead, you get a mesh just catering to what interests kids. It's like a big commercial advertising itself.

It seems that Stargirl has grown up a little since I last met her. How's it been?

I hope you know that I'm a bad influence on your kids
